Former Charmed co-stars Rose McGowan and Alyssa Milano are embroiled in a Twitter war.
What started as debate over politics between the two actresses quickly got personal – with Rose accusing Alyssa of appropriating the #MeToo movement and making the set of their show “toxic AF.”
“1) You stole #metoo (a brilliant communication tool, not a movement) from Tarana. You co-opted my movement, the Cultural Reset, for fame, jealous of me for outing my rapist. You made 250k per week on Charmed. (Con’t),” the Rose claimed on Twitter.
“2) You threw a fit in front of the crew, yelling, ‘They don’t pay me enough to do this s–t!’ Appalling behavior on the daily. I cried every time we got renewed because you made that set toxic AF. Now, get off my coattails you f–king fraud,” she added in another tweet.
Alyssa later replied to the thread, writing, “Everyone saying sweet things—I see you. Thank you. Everyone saying horrible things—I see you. F–k off.”
“Hurt people hurt people. Empowered people empower people. Loved people love people,” she continued.
The next day, Rose shared a screenshot that Alyssa had blocked her on the platform.
Charmed, which ran from 1998-2006, starred Alyssa as Phoebe Halliwell and Rose as Paige Matthews. The supernatural drama also starred Shannon Doherty and Holly Marie Combs.
Rose joined the cast in Season 4, and when Shannon departed from the show in 2001, she became a lead. Alyssa also took on the role of executive producer towards the show’s later seasons.
When reached out for comment on their heated Twitter exchange, Alyssa said, in a statement to E! News, “Hurt people hurt people. Commenting any further doesn’t align with my wellness plan.”
Warner Bros. and Rose’s rep are yet to respond to requests for comment.
