Sadie Sink is officially stepping into the Marvel Cinematic Universe!

The Stranger Things star, 22, has landed a role in the highly anticipated Spider-Man 4, joining Tom Holland in his next web-slinging adventure. The news, first reported by Deadline, confirms the long-standing speculation about her potential involvement in the MCU—though exactly who she’ll be playing remains a mystery.

As with most things Marvel, details about Sadie’s character are being kept tightly under wraps. However, that hasn’t stopped the internet from running wild with theories.

One of the biggest rumors? That she’s been cast as Jean Grey, the iconic X-Men mutant with telekinetic abilities. With Marvel slowly introducing mutants into the MCU, this would be a major development—and given Sadie’s fiery red hair, it’s a role that seems to fit.

Of course, there’s also speculation that she could be playing a different red-haired Marvel favorite: Mary Jane Watson. Fans of the Spider-Man franchise will know that Zendaya’s character, Michelle “MJ” Jones, was inspired by Mary Jane, making it unclear how another MJ would fit into the current storyline. But given the multiverse and the fact that the world has forgotten Peter Parker exists, anything is possible.

While Sadie’s role remains a mystery, one thing is certain: Spider-Man 4 is shaping up to be a major blockbuster.

The film will be directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, best known for Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, and is expected to begin filming later this year. Marvel recently pushed back the release date by a week, with Spider-Man 4 now set to hit cinemas on July 31, 2026.

With Tom Holland reprising his role as Peter Parker and now Sadie Sink joining the cast, fans are eager to see what’s next for the beloved superhero—especially after the mind-wiping events of No Way Home.

Will she be Peter’s new love interest? A powerful mutant? Someone completely unexpected? The wait for answers just got a lot more exciting.

Stay tuned for more updates!
