Sam Asghari is breaking his silence on divorcing Britney Spears.
The 29-year-old fitness trainer, model, and actor has spoken out for the first time after news broke that he is getting divorced from the 41-year-old pop superstar. The couple were married for one year, and had been together for six years.
His statement comes following reports that he filed divorce documents in court.
Taking to Instagram, Sam said:
“After 6 years of love and commitment to each other my wife and I have decided to end our journey together.
We will hold onto the love and respect we have for each other and I wish her the best always. Sh*t happens, Asking for privacy seems ridiculous so I will just ask for everyone including the media to be kind and thoughtful.”
New details have come out about what was disclosed in his divorce papers. According to the papers, Sam cited “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for divorcing Britney.
The listed date of separation is July 28, 2023.
Sam wants spousal support. He also wants her to pay his legal fees. The docs likewise state that he “reserves the right to amend” and of their property and community assets.
