Comedian Jeff Dye isn’t holding back about his experience working with Sarah Hyland on the 2019 film The Wedding Year. In a recent interview, Dye shared some less-than-flattering opinions about the Modern Family actress, calling her “rude to everyone” and a “tyrant” on set.

Speaking on The George Janko Show, Dye, 42, claimed Hyland, 34, exhibited diva-like behaviour despite his limited time on set. “I played Anna Camp’s husband, so I was there for maybe 30 seconds,” he said. “But in that time, Sarah Hyland was the lead, and she’s, like, a pretty woman that chain smokes and is terrible.”

He recounted an alleged incident where Hyland was frustrated about background actors using the craft services table. “She was annoyed that some extras wanted free granola bars, like it was her kitchen or something,” he said.

Dye went on to claim that Hyland “hated” him, recalling a moment when she allegedly told him, “You’re what’s wrong with people.” He also recounted an incident where she became emotional while watching a Dumbo trailer on set. “She starts crying, and I just wanted to ruin the moment, so I said, ‘Yeah, that looks gay.’ She hated me.”

Despite his comments, Hyland has yet to publicly respond to Dye’s remarks. Whether this will escalate into a public back-and-forth remains to be seen.
