Scooter Braun recently opened up about his long-standing feud with Taylor Swift and shared his thoughts on the recent docuseries, Taylor Swift vs. Scooter Braun: Bad Blood, which delves into their public clash.

The feud began in 2019 when Braun purchased Swift’s former record label, thereby acquiring the rights to her master recordings. This move triggered a very public fallout between the two, ultimately leading Swift to re-record her early albums to regain control over her music.

At the Bloomberg Screentime event, Scooter Braun revealed that, although he initially avoided watching the Discovery+ series, he finally decided to give it a shot after some family encouragement. “I wasn’t going to watch it because I just thought it was going to be, like, another hit piece,” Braun admitted, according to The Hollywood Reporter. “And I pretty much stayed quiet about this kind of stuff. But my dad and my mom called me and said, ‘We just watched it. We think you should watch it.’ So I did.”

Despite his decision to watch the series, Braun expressed disappointment in how events were portrayed. “A lot of things were misrepresented,” he noted. However, he seemed keen on moving forward, suggesting that it’s time to put the drama behind him.

Reflecting on the feud, Braun indicated a desire to close that chapter. “Look, it’s five years later. I think it’s time for everyone to move on,” he stated. He also touched on the importance of direct communication in resolving conflicts. “I think that it’s important in any kind of conflict that people actually communicate directly with each other. I think doing it out on social media and in front of the whole world is not the place,” he said, suggesting that public feuds only complicate matters. “When people take the time to stand in front of each other and have a conversation, they usually find out the monster’s not real. And that hasn’t happened.”

Despite their past, Braun had high praise for Taylor Swift’s talent and work ethic. When asked which artist he would build a new company around, he didn’t hesitate to name her. “I think the artist that’s one you should always bet on, and is already a huge star, and you can always bet on because they want it all the time, and they do whatever it takes to be present, is Taylor Swift,” Braun said, acknowledging her dedication and commitment to her craft.

Though the feud remains a significant chapter in both their careers, it seems Braun is ready to move past it, offering nothing but respect for Swift’s success.
