Serena Williams Shuts Down Question On Meghan Markle

Serena Williams is not here for questions about her pal Meghan Markle.

ICYMI, for the past two weeks, the Duchess of Sussex has been involved some major Royal Family drama – like stepping down from their roles as senior members of the British Royal Family, moving to North America and becoming financially independent sort of thing.

Serena and Meghan are known to be good friends from way back – as in before she married Prince Harry and became part of the Royal Fam. Serena was there to see the couple tie the knot at the Royal Wedding in 2018. And even when she became a duchess, Meghan has shown support for her longtime friend by showing up at her tournaments.

The tennis pro competed at the Australian Open on Monday (January 20), and after the game, one reporter tried to sneak in a question to ask about Serena’s thought on Meghan and the Royal Family sitch.

Serena shut that down real quick, but gave the reporter an A for effort.

According to The New York Times reporter Ben Rothenberg, the reporter asked, “Your good friend, Meghan Markle, who attended your last two slams, and Harry, have taken a move, a stance that many people think is extraordinary and historic. What are your feelings about that? Have you spoken to her?”

“Yeah, I have absolutely no comments on anything with that,” she replied. “But good try. You tried. You did good.”
