Travis Barker and Kourtney Kardashian’s romance have been heating up big time – and they’re not shy about putting their love on display on social media either. But there’s wild a rumor going around that Travis allegedly cheated on his ex-wife Shanna Moakler with Kourtney’s younger sister, Kim!
The rumor began circulating earlier this week when Travis’s 15-year-old daughter Alabama, whom he shares with Shanna – the former couple are also parents to 17-year-old son Landon – went on Instagram Story with a post that included a DM that Shanna allegedly sent, which reads, in part, “I divorced Travis because I caught him having an affair with Kim! Now he’s in love with her sister…It’s all gross…I’m not the bad guy!”
Then, Shanna went on record, alleging to Us Weekly on Tuesday (May 18) that she was “never” friends with the Kardashians for that very reason. “I divorced my ex because, I saw them — I caught them having an affair,” she claims, going on to clarify that she was talking about KIM.
Shanna, who was married to Travis from 2004 to 2008, claims “Someone sent me all their [text] conversations and I’m also close friends with people who were there, while things were happening.”
The Rhode Island-native says this allegedly happened back in the early 2000s, when the Skims founder was working as Paris Hilton’s assistant – and also claimed that the Blink 182 drummer had an affair with the heiress.
“He had already had an affair with Paris Hilton,” she alleged. “And…at the time Kim was Paris’s closet organizer, they were best friends. And he started using [Kim] as a model for [his clothing company], Famous Stars and Straps.”
She went on to claim that she asked Travis “not to use” Kim as a model because of her connection to Paris. “We were working on our marriage and trying to heal through that affair, that infidelity, [but] he continued to [work with her]. And then I received all the text messages and the other third parties kind of let me know. It’s something I was well aware of.”
“He is dating her sister [Kourtney] now, so I think that would be really weird,” Shanna added.
Travis has previously admitted he was attracted to Kim in his 2015 memoir, Can I Say: Living Large Cheating Death, And Drums, Drums, Drums.
Recalling a trip to Amsterdam they were both on, he wrote, “I kept on secretly checking out Kim, telling Lil Chris, ‘I don’t care if she’s the closet girl, she’s f–king hot.’” They later stayed in touch and would hang out in Los Angeles. “We went to dinner, we went to lunch. You might think I would be doing the worst things with this girl because of her tapes, but it was the exact opposite of any other encounter I’ve had with a woman: with Kim, I wanted to be nothing but a gentleman to her. It was so weird.”
In a 2015 interview with Us Weekly, he also got candid about having a crush on the KKW Beauty founder – but says he only looked and never touched.
“I had a crush on her and we were flirtatious but nothing ever happened,” he told the outlet.
However, during Shanna’s chat with Us Weekly on Tuesday (May 18), she claims he’s “100 percent” lying that they never hooked up.
Kourt and Travis have been friends and neighbors for years before striking up a romance late last year – the two went Instagram official on Valentine’s Day.
In a recent report, insiders say the alleged Travis-Kim affair Did. Not. Happen.
“Travis and Kim have never had a romantic relationship” a source close to Kim tells Page Six. “They were friends who met through Paris Hilton and that is also how Kourtney and Travis were introduced.”
“It’s a shame that [Shanna] continues to spread lies because she is clearly bitter her ex is happy and has moved on,” another source adds. “It’s extremely hurtful to her kids how she is behaving. Hopefully she gets the help that she needs and can eventually find happiness.”
A source also previously told the outlet, “Anyone who is close to them has always known that Travis has been in love with Kourtney for forever [not Kim]. They are madly in love and best of friends. Everyone in their circle couldn’t be happier for them. There is nothing weird or any drama here.”
Meanwhile, Shanna is also addressing her children’s claims that she’s an absent mom – Landon went on TikTok saying “isn’t in [their] lives like” their dad; Alabama went on IG Story claiming, “My mom has never completely been in my life, can you guys stop painting her out to be a [sic] amazing Mom. Did your moms ask to see you on mother’s day cause mine didn’t?”
“The claims of being absent from my children’s lives are false and incredibly hurtful. Co-parenting is hard, but I have always and will continue to prioritize my children’s happiness and well-being,” she said in a statement to PEOPLE. “I refuse to involve them in a vindictive parenting competition where feelings are bound to get hurt. Encouraging relationships with both parents is a duty on both mother and father. I know one day my children will see through the fame and money machine they have been thrust into and realize their mother loves and will always be there for them.”
