Shay Mitchell is going to be a mother of two! The 34-year-old actress is expecting her second child with boyfriend Matt Babel. She and her 41-year-old beau are already parents to a daughter, 2-year-old Atlas.
Shay took to social media on Monday (February 7) to share the joyful news. On Instagram, the Dollface star wrote a heartfelt, poignant post about her pregnancy as well as her heartbreak over her grandmother’s passing. She revealed a week ago that her grandmother passed away, referring to her as her “best friend.”
In her very moving pregnancy announcement, Shay wrote:
“Saying goodbye to a loved one while simultaneously experiencing the joy of welcoming another into this world is the great cycle of life. It is also my most challenging season to date.
I can’t help but think this was the universe’s plan all along, knowing I would need other worldly joy to cushion the blow of losing one of the most important people in my life. Yet, this is proof that love, life and loss can profoundly exist all at the same time.”
She concluded by sweetly alluding to the beautiful connection that already exists between her grandmother and her baby:
“Gram, I miss you every day. Little one, we are so excited to meet you. I breathe a sigh of peace knowing you two are already connected in such a cosmic way.”
