Over the weekend, Sia faced the ire of fans calling for a #SiaIsOverParty.
In a since-deleted tweet, a fan asked the “Chandelier” singer if she was collaborating with Nicki Minaj along with a photo of the “Starships” rapper.
Sia responded: “I love @iamcardib and although this isn’t a collaboration, I would love to COLLAB with her any day!”
As a reminder, Nicki and Cardi have a years-long history of tension – they’ve been pretty open about their beef in the past, and who can forget the brawl that went down during 2018 New York Fashion Week? So, Nicki’s fans weren’t so happy about Sia mistaking Nick for Card and called her out.
However, Sia appears to have mistakenly thought that it was her tweet that caused the feud between the two female rappers, and tweeted (but later deleted), “Hey @cardib @NICKIMINAJ you aren’t thinking about a feud right now are you? We are focused on the problem of systemic racism.”
After deleting the tweet, she again went on the platform with a message for both, writing, “I totally misunderstood a tweet earlier that has resulted in me making a buffoon out of myself. Sorry @NICKIMINAJ and @iamcardib if you hear about it. Can I just like you both?”
However, fans pointed out that the issue was never about her liking both artists but for mistaking them with each other.
Nicki and Cardi both haven’t reacted to the drama on social media.
