Guess who’s making a triumphant return to the music scene? It’s none other than the incredible Sia! The 47-year-old singer behind the iconic “Chandelier” has some thrilling news to share.
Sia recently took to Instagram to drop the bombshell announcement of her musical comeback. She posted artwork for her upcoming single, “Gimme Love,” and we couldn’t be more excited!
Her team revealed the official release date with a playful message:
“Hold on to your bobs & bows! Sia’s new song ‘Gimme Love’ is coming on September 13th <3.”
Let’s just take a moment to appreciate the fact that we’re getting new music from Sia! It’s been a little while since her last studio album, “This Is Acting,” which graced our ears back in 2016. Of course, we can’t forget her delightful holiday record, “Everyday Is Christmas,” which spread joy in 2017. Plus, 2021 brought us the incredible soundtrack to her movie, “Music.”
But wait, there’s more! Remember her track “Unstoppable” from 2016? It became a sensation, thanks to its appearances in commercials and its takeover on TikTok in recent years. It even got a fresh spin last July when it was sent to radio and became her latest Top 40 hit. Sia’s music has a way of staying in our hearts and playlists, and we can’t wait to see what “Gimme Love” has in store for us.
In addition to her music, Sia has been opening up about her personal journey. Earlier this year, she revealed that she is on the autism spectrum, sharing this part of herself with the world. In May, during an appearance on Rob Has A Podcast, she spoke candidly about her experience:
“For 45 years, I was like… ‘I’ve got to go put my human suit on. And only in the last two years have I become fully, fully myself. Nobody can ever know and love you when you’re filled with secrets and… living in shame.”
Sia continued, highlighting the importance of authenticity:
“And when we finally sit in a room full of strangers and tell them our deepest, darkest, most shameful secrets, and everybody laughs along with us, and we don’t feel like pieces of trash for the first time in our lives, and we feel seen for the first time in our lives for who we actually are, and then we can start going out into the world and just operating as humans and human beings with hearts and not pretending to be anything.”
So, mark your calendars for September 13th, because Sia’s “Gimme Love” is about to drop, and it’s bound to be a musical journey filled with her signature charm and powerful vocals. Welcome back, Sia – we’ve missed you! 🎶❤️🎉
