Simu Liu is officially off the market — and in the most romantic way.
The Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings star, 36, proposed to his girlfriend, marketing exec Allison Hsu, and she said yes! The couple made the big announcement on Instagram on May 11 with a carousel of stunning photos from their dreamy Paris engagement.
“Us forever,” Allison wrote in her caption, showing off her dazzling engagement ring.
Simu shared the love in his own post, writing, “From weekends in Paris, day trips to Palm Springs, long nights on set, afternoons vegging on the couch and everything in between, I choose you forever and always.”
Allison wasted no time replying: “I love you fiancé!!!!!!!!!!!!!!”
It’s been a sweet ride for the couple, who were first linked back in late 2022. Simu has opened up in the past about how transformative their relationship has been.
“I think everyone knows the feeling of being in a situation where they’re not fully happy, and then all of a sudden for that to change…it’s such a breath of relief,” he told People in 2023. “It’s this feeling of ‘Oh, right, it does exist.’ You start to feel like, okay, maybe I’ve just been conditioned to want something that doesn’t exist or I have unrealistic expectations.”
Clearly, those expectations were met — and then some. The couple’s relationship has taken them from Hollywood to Paris and everywhere in between, and their engagement seems like the natural next step in what’s been a loving, steady romance.
Simu, who is currently in the midst of filming the much-anticipated Avengers: Doomsday (set for release in 2026), seems to be juggling superhero duties and real-life happiness pretty seamlessly.
