Is this a classic case of he said, she said?
Singer-songwriter Olivia O’Brien confirmed on Thursday (June 30) that she previously dated Pete Davidson. Pete, however, is saying otherwise.
In an appearance on the BFFs with Dave Portnoy, Josh Richards, and Brianna Chickenfry podcast, the 22-year-old entertainer as asked what happened between her and Pete. She seemed surprised, saying:
“Where did you hear that? How did you hear that?”
Olivia was seemingly confused as to how the hosts knew about her and Pete, and they said it came up as a blind item on the Instagram gossip account Deuxmoi. Olivia then finally confirmed that they did in fact date back in October 2020 but did not think “anyone knew about that.”
She said that the 28-year-old SNL star ended things over text before he started seeing Phoebe Dynevor:
“He texted me and was like, ‘I’m seeing someone else. So, like, I can’t.”
In spite of how things ended between them, Olivia only had great things to say about Pete:
“He’s hot and he’s really funny. And he’s really sweet. He’s a really sweet guy.”
Soon after Olivia confirmed that she and Pete dated, Pete’s rep spoke out in response to what she said.
His rep declared that the story is not true at all:
“There is no truth to this.
[Pete and Olivia] were friends and hung [out] a few times.”
