Skai Jackson is taking serious steps to protect herself and her infant son.
The former Disney Channel star, 23, has filed for a restraining order against Deondre Burgin, the father of her baby boy, Kasai. In court documents obtained by People, Skai accuses Deondre of multiple instances of domestic violence throughout their relationship.
One of the most harrowing incidents allegedly took place on Mother’s Day this year, when Skai says Deondre assaulted her while she was holding their newborn.
According to the filing, “Deondre grabbed her by her hair, slammed her head against a car window, and punched her in the face.”
Skai also outlined a six-month stretch during their relationship when she claims she was abused weekly. She alleges he would choke her, slam her head into walls, and scratch her during violent arguments. Beyond the physical assaults, she says he also damaged her belongings, including a TV and iPhone.
Even more disturbing are the accusations Skai made regarding her pregnancy. She says Deondre told her to drink bleach in an attempt to harm their unborn child, and that he once held her at knifepoint. She claimed he threatened to stab her in the stomach if she called for help as he walked her to her car.
In another incident, Skai said she locked herself in a bathroom to escape. She alleges Deondre punched through the door, slammed her against a wall, and “choked me until I could not breathe.”
Skai says she has video evidence of some of the incidents, which she included in her filing.
A source close to Skai told People, “The safety and well-being of her family is the top priority. This restraining order was filed as a necessary measure to protect her and her child from continued harassment and threats.”
Skai publicly confirmed her pregnancy in November 2024. Around that time, Deondre was arrested in Cincinnati, Ohio on a juvenile parole violation.
