Several celebrities are throwing their support behind Megan Thee Stallion (real name: Megan Pete) after she dropped the name of her shooter on social media last week.

Last month, Megan revealed she “suffered gunshot wounds” following a disturbance in the Hollywood Hills area that police responded to – there was an argument and shots were fired. Megan, another woman, and Tory Lanez (real name: Daystar Peterson) were also involved in the incident. Tory was arrested for carrying a concealed weapon inside the vehicle – but was later bailed out.

A video published by TMZ, showed Megan bleeding from her foot after police stopped a car also containing Tory.

Megan has since posted a statement about the incident on Instagram, writing, “On Sunday morning, I suffered gunshot wounds, as a result of a crime that was committed against me and done with the intention to physically harm me.”

“I was never arrested, the police officers drove me to the hospital where I underwent surgery to remove the bullets. I’m incredibly grateful to be alive and that I’m expected to make a full recovery, but it was important for me to clarify the details about this traumatic night,” she continued.

On Wednesday (August 19), Megan posted (and later deleted) graphic photos of the injuries to her feet – which appears to have been taken shortly after the incident. She also claimed to have sustained the injuries from a bullet and bullet fragments – and had to undergo surgery to remove said bullet fragments from her feet.

“Lol what I have learned abt majority of the people on social media is y’all like to hear bad news before good news, a lie spreads quicker than the truth, and y’all really be believing the s**t YALL make up,” Megan wrote in the caption. “I got hit at the back of my feet because when I got shot I was WALKING AWAY FACING THE BACK.”

“Why would I lie abt getting shot? Why are y’all so upset that I don’t wanna be in the bed sad ? Why y’all upset that I can walk?” she asked. “I got my stitches out my feet like 2 weeks ago and I was ready to go celebrate ‘WAP’ going number 1… I usually don’t address internet bulls–t but y’all people are so sick!”

“God was really watching over me and I’m healing so well,” the “Hot Girl Summer” rapper concluded the since-deleted post.

On Thursday (August 20), however, she went on Instagram Live to share her side of the story – she claims that it was Tory who shot her. She also alleged that Tory and his camp have been spreading rumors about her to discredit her.

“Yes, this n—a Tory shot me,” Megan claimed. “You shot me. And you got your publicist and your people going to these blogs, lying and s–t. Stop lying!”

According to her, a fight had broken out while they were driving to her house and she left the car in anger. Tory, who was sitting in the backseat, shot the back of her foot from the car window. She said she even tried to protect Tory by not telling the police and the hospital staff about the gun.

“Stop trying to come on the internet and act like a Black woman, a grown a– Black woman, has a reason to lie on another Black man,” Megan said in the video. “Even though he shot me, I tried to spare him. I go through so much s–t on a daily basis anyway.”

Several celebrities have since gone on social media to show their support from Megan – and spread the message to #ProtectBlackWomen.

“I hope Meg really gets justice for what Tory did to her. And that we can all learn from this, how near and constant and serious, the threat of lethal violence and abuse is for every Black woman,” Chance the Rapper tweeted.

“Meg I admire your courage and applaud you for speaking up. We must Support Black Women, Protect Black Women, and Believe Black Women. @theestallion,” Michael B. Jordan wrote on the platform.

“Peace. Protection. Respect. For ALL Black Women. ALWAYS. @theestallion, we stand with you. F–k this s–t. #ProtectBlackWomen,” Halle Berry tweeted.

JoJo also called for “LOVE RESPECT AND PEACE AND PROTECTION TO @theestallion” on Twitter.

Janelle Monae and Gabrielle Union also expressed their support by retweeting messages about protecting Black women.

Taraji P. Henson went on Instagram Story, writing, “I want to PERSONALLY thank ALL OF THE MEN speaking up on behalf of our sister and QUEEN @theestallion #protectblackwomen PERIOD.”

According to Entertainment Tonight, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office “reviewing a potential charge of felony assault with a firearm” against Tory – they’ve previously asked the Los Angeles Police Department to investigate further before making the decision to file the charges.
