There was a very special and very awesome surprise awaiting the lucky people at the 2022 CW Upfronts!
Supernatural stars Jensen Ackles, Jared Padalecki, and Misha Collins had a mini-reunion on stage at the event on Thursday (May 19) in NYC.
All three of the men have projects currently airing or about to air on the network. Jensen is executive producer to the new Supernatural origin show The Winchesters with his wife Danneel Ackles. Jared is starring in Walker, and he is also producing the prequel show Walker: Independence. Misha is starring in the upcoming show Gotham Knights.
The three men were all present at the even to promote individual projects — but they reunited on stage to pitch some ideas to CW network boss Mark Pedowitz! According to Variety, the actors strolled onto the stage as Mark was saying:
“From major cultural events to hit specials, it is always a good time when the CW goes off script…”
To which Jared chimed in by stating:
“We were just, not spying, just kind of existing nearby. And we heard you talking about the movies and specials, and since all three of us are back on the CW this year, we just wanted to pitch some ideas to you.”
Misha then added:
“Just back-of-the-napkin kind of stuff.”
Hilarious ideas from the guys include “A Very Castiel Christmas” for Misha’s Supernatural character Castiel, and a Hanukkah episode for Walker to be titled “Walker, Texas Rabbi.”
