T.I. has officially announced his retirement from performing! The 44-year-old rapper made the surprising revelation during a recent appearance on 96.1 The Beat’s Rari at 2 radio show, where he confirmed that his upcoming performance would be his final one on stage.

In his candid conversation, T.I. explained the reasons behind his decision to step away from live performances. “I appreciate y’all for offering me my last working gig because I do not need the money anymore and I will not be performing,” he shared. The rapper made it clear that his decision wasn’t financially motivated but was rooted in a desire to move on from this chapter of his career. “I don’t want to do it anymore. … I don’t want people to pay me to hop around and sweat for their entertainment anymore.”

While T.I. is hanging up his performance shoes, he admitted that the decision isn’t entirely set in stone. He mentioned that he would still answer the phone for future gig offers, but with a twist. “Of course, I’m going to answer the phone to tell them that I will not be performing,” he joked, signaling that his retirement is a personal choice, but one he’s sticking to for now.

Despite his retirement from regular performances, T.I. left the door open for potential future performances—on his own terms. Although he won’t be taking up any more paid gigs, fans may still get the chance to see him on stage again someday, should the mood strike him.

His final performance will take place on December 19th at 93.1 The Beat’s Jingle Ball show in Atlanta, which promises to be a star-studded event. T.I. will take the stage alongside big names like Tinashe, Sexyy Red, T-Pain, Saweetie, Khalid, and The Kid LAROI. This holiday concert will mark the end of T.I.’s performance career, giving fans one last opportunity to see him live.

In addition to this major career news, T.I. and his wife Tiny recently celebrated a huge legal victory. The couple won a multi-million dollar lawsuit against a toy company, adding a significant win to their recent successes.
