Taylor Swift fans all over the world have been waiting for this for so long and now it’s finally here — and we are over the moon with everything she’s dishing out.
Red (Taylor’s Version)
First comes the release of her new album Red (Taylor’s Version) Friday (November 12) which sees the 31-year-old superstar revisiting and re-recording her 2012 massive hit album. The album contains 30 songs, which include nine “from the vault” unreleased tunes consisting of collabs with Chris Stapleton, Phoebe Bridgers, and Ed Sheeran. The original 10-minute long explicit version of “All Too Well” is also featured in the re-recorded version of the album.
In a post on Instagram back in June, Taylor announced that she was working on the heartbreak-inspired album following the release of the reimagined Fearless album in April:
“Imagining your future might always take you on a detour back to the past. And this is all to say, that the next album I’ll be releasing is my version of Red.”
Taylor went on to open up about her experience revisiting that iconic album:
”Musically and lyrically, Red resembled a heartbroken person. It was all over the place, a fractured mosaic of feelings that somehow all fit together in the end. Happy, free, confused, lonely, devastated, euphoric, wild, and tortured by memories past. Like trying on pieces of a new life, I went into the studio and experimented with different sounds and collaborators.
And I’m not sure if it was pouring my thoughts into this album, hearing thousands of your voices sing the lyrics back to me in passionate solidarity, or if it was simply time, but something was healed along the way.”
In August, she spoke about all the artists she worked with during the recording process:
“I can’t express my gratitude enough to these artists for helping me bring these songs to life. I can’t wait til we can dust off our highest hopes and relive these memories together. We’ll also be making a bunch of new ones too, since Red (Taylor’s Version) includes so many songs you haven’t heard yet. Til then, I’ll be counting down and picturing it all in my head. In burning red.”

All Too Well: A Short Film
A week ago, Taylor dropped a major bombshell: She was going to release All Too Well: A Short Film on the day of Red (Taylor’s Version)’s release! The short film stars Stranger Things’ Sadie Sink and Teen Wolf’s Dylan O’Brien alongside Taylor herself.
Fans have noted that Sadie and Dylan’s ages now line up with how old Taylor and former flame Jake Gyllenhaal were at the time of their short-lived romance, which is widely rumored to be what this song is all about — as well as other tracks in this album.
During an appearance on Late Night With Seth Myers, Taylor praised Sadie and Dylan and talked about how she was blown away by their performances:
“They acted their a*ses off!”
She also revealed that Sadie and Dylan were the only two she considered for the short film, and approached Sadie first, stating:
“If she had said no, I wouldn’t have made the film.”
Taylor is the writer and director for this project, which makes this her directorial debut.
All Too Well: A Short Film premieres on YouTube today, November 12, at 7pm Eastern.
All Too Well 10 Minute Version
It’s something fans have long wanted to hear, and now, the long-rumored 10-minute explicit version of All Too Well has been released! The song was originally released back in 2012 on Red and clocked at 5 minutes and 28 seconds. The longer track contains more powerful lyrics and according to fans may have revealed more about the relationship this song (and album) inspired – Taylor and Jake.
Read on for the full lyrics and see for yourself:
Verse 1
I walked through the door with you, the air was cold
But something ’bout it felt like home somehow
And I left my scarf there at your sister’s house
And you’ve still got it in your drawer, even now
Oh, your sweet disposition and my wide-eyed gaze
We’re singing in the car, getting lost upstate
Autumn leaves falling down like pieces into place
And I can picture it after all these days
Pre-Chorus
And I know it’s long gone and
That magic’s not here no more
And I might be okay, but I’m not fine at all
Oh, oh, oh
Chorus
‘Causе there we arе again on that little town street
You almost ran the red ’cause you were lookin’ over at me
Wind in my hair, I was there
I remember it all too well
Verse 2
Photo album on the counter, your cheeks were turning red
You used to be a little kid with glasses in a twin-sized bed
And your mother’s telling stories ’bout you on the tee-ball team
You tell me ’bout your past, thinking your future was me
And you were tossing me the car keys, fuck the patriarchy
Key chain on the ground, we were always skipping town
And I was thinking on the drive down, any time now
He’s gonna say it’s love, you never called it what it was
‘Til we were dead and gone and buried
Check the pulse and come back swearing it’s the same
After three months in the grave
And then you wondered where it went to as I reached for you
But all I felt was shame and you held my lifeless frame
Pre-Chorus
And I know it’s long gone and
There was nothing else I could do
And I forget about you long enough
To forget why I needed to
Chorus
‘Cause there we are again in the middle of the night
We’re dancing ’round the kitchen in the refrigerator light
Down the stairs, I was there
I remember it all too well
And there we are again when nobody had to know
You kept me like a secret but I kept you like an oath
Sacred prayer, and we’d swear
To remember it all too well, yeah
Bridge
Well maybe we got lost in translation
Maybe I asked for too much
But maybe this thing was a masterpiece
‘Til you tore it all up
Running scared, I was there
I remember it all too well
And you call me up again
Just to break me like a promise
So casually cruel in the name of being honest
I’m a crumpled up piece of paper lying here
‘Cause I remember it all, all, all
Verse 3
They say all’s well that ends well
But I’m in a new hell every time you double-cross my mind
You said if we had been closer in age maybe it would have been fine
And that made me want to die
The idea you had of me, who was she?
A never-needy ever lovely jewel whose shine reflects on you
Not weeping in a party bathroom
Some actress asking me what happened, you, that’s what happened, you
You who charmed my dad with self-effacing jokes
Sipping coffee like you’re on a late night show
But then he watched me watch the front door all night, willing you to come
And he said, “It’s supposed to be fun turning twenty-one”
Chorus
Time won’t fly, it’s like I’m paralyzed by it
I’d like to be my old self again, but I’m still trying to find it
After plaid shirt days and nights when you made me your own
Now you mail back my things and I walk home alone
But you keep my old scarf from that very first week
‘Cause it reminds you of innocence and it smells like me
You can’t get rid of it
‘Cause you remember it all too well, yeah
‘Cause there we are again when I loved you so
Back before you lost the one real thing you’ve ever known
Post-Chorus
It was rare, I was there
I remember it all too well
Wind in my hair, you were there
You remember it all
Down the stairs, you were there
You remember it all
It was rare, I was there
I remember it all too well
Verse 4
And I was never good at telling jokes but the punch line goes
I’ll get older but your lovers stay my age
From when your Brooklyn broke my skin and bones
I’m a soldier who’s returning half her weight
And did the twin flame bruise paint you blue?
Just between us, did the love affair maim you too?
‘Cause in this city’s barren cold, I still remember the first fall of snow
And how it glistened as it fell, I remember it all too well
Outro
Just between us, did the love affair maim you all too well?
Just between us, do you remember it all too well?
Just between us, I remember it (Just between us) all too well
Wind in my hair, I was there, I was there
Down the stairs, I was there, I was there
Sacred prayer, I was there, I was there
It was rare, you remember it all too well
Wind in my hair, I was there, I was there
Down the stairs, I was there, I was there
Sacred prayer, I was there, I was there
It was rare, you remember it
Wind in my hair, I was there, I was there
Down the stairs, I was there, I was there
Sacred prayer, I was there, I was there
It was rare, you remember it
Wind in my hair, I was there, I was there
Down the stairs, I was there, I was there
Sacred prayer, I was there, I was there
It was rare, you remember it
Ronan Music Video
Taylor also dropped an all-new lyric video for her song “Ronan” which was about Ronan Thompson, a boy who passed away days before he turned four due to cancer.
The new video features family photos and videos of Ronan. All of the content was provided by his mother Maya Thompson.
Maya shared her thoughts online after watching the new video, emotionally saying:
“This is how I’ll be all day. I just listened AND watched Ronan, Taylor’s version. I couldn’t tell you about the music video until now. It is beyond perfection and I can’t wait for you all to see it. @taylorswift13 You are one of the greatest loves of my life. TY for loving him.
Forever ours, thanks to @taylorswift13. I am sobbing. It is so painstakingly perfect.”\
Congratulations, Taylor!
