Taylor Swift is gearing up to drop Fearless (Taylor’s Version), which includes six previously unreleased songs written during the time she was working on her 2008 Fearless album. She’s previously explained to fans that those tracks were “held back” from the 2008 album for “different reasons,” all of which “seem unnecessary” now. She also noted that the inclusion of those songs will give fans the “full picture” of her Fearless era.
The songstress kept fans busy over the weekend, sharing a coded video with scrambled words with what fans believe are clues about her upcoming releases “from the vault.”
“The vault door is about to be as unhinged as you’ll think I am after you watch this video,” she tweeted alongside the video, adding, “Level: Expert. Happy decoding!”
She already released the first single, the re-recording of the hit “Love Story,” and revealed the album cover – which fans believe contains an Easter Egg. The cover feature Taylor wearing a similar shirt to what Romeo was wearing in the “Love Story” music video, which fans theorized was a subtle message about Taylor becoming her own Romeo – and no longer needs a man to “save her.”
Last week, she also dropped the first of the six songs “from the vault” – “You All Over Me” featuring Maren Morris. But, it appears that’s not the only collab on her album. Decoding the video, fans figured out that Keith Urban will also be featured in one of the tracks.
With less than a week before Fearless (Taylor’s Version) drops, Taylor finally revealed the complete tracklist with fans – as well as which tracks Keith will be on.
“Here’s the full track list, my friends. I’m really honored that @keithurban is a part of this project, duetting on ‘That’s When’ and singing harmonies on ‘We Were Happy’,” Taylor wrote on Instagram Saturday (April 3). “I was his opening act during the Fearless album era and his music has inspired me endlessly. I’m counting down the minutes til we can all jump into this brave world together, filled with equal parts nostalgia and brand newness. Head first, Fearless 💛.”
The album boasts 27 tracks, including the six vault songs – “You All Over Me” featuring Maren Morris; “Mr. Perfectly Fine”; “We Were Happy”; “That’s When” featuring Keith Urban; “Don’t You”; and “Bye Bye Baby” – plus, a bonus version of “Love Story.”
Fearless (Taylor’s Version) will drop on April 9th. It’s the first of five albums TSwift will be re-recording following her very public feud with Scooter Braun and Scott Borchetta over the sale of her old masters from her time with Big Machine Label Group.
