Taylor Swift To Make Feature Film Directorial Debut

Taylor Swift is adding to her vast array of talents. 

The 32-year-old singer / songwriter / musician / actress is officially getting behind the camera to direct her first movie. It was announced on Friday (December 9) that she will be making her feature film directorial debut with Searchlight Pictures. 

Searchlight Presidents David Greenbaum and Matthew Greenfield said in a statement to Variety:

“Taylor is a once in a generation artist and storyteller. 

It is a genuine joy and privilege to collaborate with her as she embarks on this exciting and new creative journey.”

Taylor is said to have already penned an original script. This will be produced by the Academy Award-winning studio behind films like The Shape Of Water and Nomadland. 

Casting details as well as plot have yet to be announced. 

Taylor has been getting behind the camera more and more through the years. She has directed music videos for several of her songs. 

In 2021, she wrote and directed All Too Well: The Short film, which may just earn Taylor her first Academy Award nomination for Best Short Film at the upcoming 2023 Oscars.
