Back in April, Taylor Swift announced that she was cancelling her upcoming shows for the rest of the year in light of the coronavirus outbreak – including Lover Fest. Her U.S. and Brazil shows will be rescheduled to a later date, but it seems her other shows will be cancelled altogether.

The statement, posted on Twitter, reads:

“Fighting COVID-19 is an unprecedented challenge for our global community and the safety and wellbeing of fans should always be the top priority. Health organizations and governments around the world have strongly discouraged large public gatherings for an undetermined period of time. With many events throughout the world already cancelled, and upon direction from health officials in an effort to keep fans safe and help prevent the spread of COVID-19, sadly the decision has been made to cancel all Taylor Swift live appearances and performances this year.

The U.S. and Brazil shows will be rescheduled to take place in 2021, with dates to be announced later this year Tickets held for each of those shows will transfer to a new show date without action on the part of ticket holders.

For those who desire refunds for tickets purchased for the U.S. Lover Fest shows, they will be available starting May 1st subject to Ticketmaster terms. Watch for an email from Ticketmaster with instructions on how to request one. For currently available information on all other performance dates, please visit TaylorSwift.com. Thank you so much for understanding. We look forward to seeing you all, happy and healthy, in the future.”

While it’s certainly a bummer to miss out on a Taylor Swift concert experience, safety first!

But Taylor didn’t leave fans high and dry. Fans were in for a special treat over the weekend, in the ABC special Taylor Swift City of Lover Concert, which aired on Sunday (May 17).

Featuring footages from her Paris concert last September, fans got to see Taylor perform songs from her Lover album live – including acoustic versions of tracks like “The Man,” “Daylight” and “You Need to Calm Down.” Taylor also shared a behind-the-scenes look at rehearsals and glimpses of personal photos she and her band took while in the City of Love.

Fans also became privy to some fun facts about her songs – like how she wrote “Cornelia Street” in the bathtub.

For those who missed it (or want to relive it), you can still catch the special on Hulu and Disney Plus.

Aside from helping fans and businesses in need, Taylor’s and boyfriend Joe Alwyn’s social media posts appear to hint that they’ve been spending quality time together amid the coronavirus quarantine.

She hasn’t posted much on her feed since quarantine began, but has been sharing photos of her cats Olivia Benson and Meredith as well as some gorgeous selfies.

Joe on the other hand, just shared a bunch of adorable photos of Taylor’s other furbaby – Benjamin Button. Many fans know Benjamin Button from Taylor’s music video for “ME!” Tay fell in love with the cute kitten and adopted him when they wrapped shooting.

When Joe went on Instagram Story on Wednesday (April 29), he shared photos of some pen and watercolor drawings, and a selfie sipping wine. Then came a barrage of photos of Benjamin Button being all adorable – cuddled up inside a paper bag; peeking from inside a box; and hiding underneath a rug.

Okay, so if Joe taking photos of Benjamin Button isn’t enough, fans also pointed out that the rug the blue-eyed kitty was hiding under is the same rug that appeared in Taylor’s post featuring Olivia Benson.

Taylor and Joe have been keeping their relationship on the DL – they don’t even post pictures of them together. But fans believe their posts are proof enough that they’re staying under one roof

One social media post, however, sparked a different speculation – of the collaboration kind.

When Katy announced that she’ll be dropping the first single from her upcoming 5th album on May 15th, Taylor, the unofficial queen of Easter eggs, had also posted a photo of herself wearing a beige sweater with navy daisies on social media. Fans have been theorizing that it was a possible clue that a Katy-Taylor collab might be coming our way.

Since it’s not “Daisies,” as fans originally thought, fans speculated that they might be collaborating on a track in Katy’s upcoming album.

But, sorry, guys. Katy just debunked that theory.

“Not as yet. No, I mean, it’s, it’s, the fans are so fun, I mean, they do search far and wide for Easter eggs and we do put them in our visuals and in lyric videos and music videos, in content that we create,” she said in an interview on Hits Radio Breakfast. “But, not everything is an Easter egg.”

But she is open to collaborating with Taylor.

“The fans are definitely excited for something like that to happen in the future and I’m always open,” she said.

It’s not a no, so let’s keep our fingers crossed for that it’ll happen.

Right now though, Katy, who’s expecting her first child with fiancé Orlando Bloom, is focusing on her music and becoming a mom (American Idol Season 18 wrapped on Sunday [May 17]).

“What’s in the cards is becoming a mother and I’ve always wanted to be that. I didn’t know if I could be that, or if I’d have the capacity,” Katy said. “My sister is the most maternal one in my family and I’m, I am a logistics strategiser, you know, show off, and I didn’t have the maternal gene. So I’ve had to, like, really learn how to have that and so, becoming a mother will be, first and foremost.”
