The 63rd GRAMMY Awards has announced their impressive line-up of performers for this Sunday’s (March 14) show, which include Taylor Swift, Harry Styles, Cardi B, Bad Bunny, BTS, Post Malone, Billie Eilish, Doja Cat, Miranda Lambert and Megan Thee Stallion. Also set to take the stage are Brandi Carlile, DaBaby, Haim, Chris Martin, John Mayer, Mickey Guyton, Brittany Howard, Lil Baby, Maren Morris, Black Pumas and Roddy Ricch.

But it seems two music stars are petitioning to become last-minute additions to the star-studded line-up.

Bruno Mars and Anderson .Paak recently teamed up to form Silk Sonic – and they also just dropped their first single, “Leave The Door Open.”

When the GRAMMY announced their roster of performers, Anderson went on Twitter seemingly aksing Bruno why they weren’t included.

“YO @BrunoMars WHAT THE F–K?!? Did you see this?!?! Call me back!!” he tweeted.

“Do we need to get a hashtag going or something??” he later suggested, tagging Bruno. He then called on their fans to make the hashtag #Let SilkSonicThrive trend on the platform and let the Recording Academy know they’re willing to play.

“Nah f–k that! I haven’t seen my family in months!! I need this to work, You promised me!! Everybody join in!!! I need all of Twitter to help make this trend!! Come on @RecordingAcad #LetSilkSonicThrive,” he wrote.

So Bruno later went on Twitter with a letter for the Recording Academy, asking them nicely if they could play that evening.

“Dear Grammys,” he began. “If you can see it in your hearts to allow two out of work musicians to perform at your show, we would really appreciate it. We just released a song and could really use the promotion right now. We have a lot riding on this record (and the Pelicans game next week, but that’s another story). We haven’t been able to perform for a while and we just want to sing. We’ll send in an audition tape and take as many covid tests as we need to. I promise we won’t be extra. We just really want a gig again. I hope you’ll consider this request and give us the opportunity to shine. Love, Silk Sonic.”

The Recording Academy has so far not yet publicly addressed their request to play during the evening’s ceremonies.

Hosted by Trevor Noah, the 63rd GRAMMY Awards will air on Sunday, March 14 at 8PM ET/5PM PT.
