The Jonas Brothers And The Weeknd Congratulate BTS On This Achievement

BTS landed the top spot on the Billboard Hot 100 Chart with their latest and first all-English single “Dynamite,” making history as the first-ever South Korean act to top the Hot 100 Chart.

According to Chart Data, the group has also become one of only three bands to debut a song at No. 1.

“@BTS_twt joins @Aerosmith and @jonasbrothers as the only bands in history to debut at #1 on the Hot 100,” Chart Data tweeted.

The Jonas Brothers went on Twitter to celebrate the BTS’ impressive achievement, writing, “Welcome to the club boys 🥳😎 @bts_twt.”

“Dynamite” is also the first song by an Asian act in 57 years to hit the top of the Hot 100 – since Kyu Sakamoto’s 1963 single, “Sukiyaki.”

“Really cool,” The Weeknd tweeted. “This is so big for asian artists. huge congratulations to @bts_bighit.”

BTS, which is comprised of members Jin, Suga, J-Hope, RM, V, Jungkook, and Jimin, has shared a message thanking fans for their major accomplishment, via Entertainment Tonight.

“It’s always been our goal, it’s a dream come true to top the Billboard Hot 100 chart,” Suga said. “Thank you so much, ARMY.”

“We couldn’t believe it. It’s truly amazing, thanks to you, ARMY,” V continued.

“Billboard, I’m speechless. You made all this possible,” J-Hope added. “We want to share this honor with you, ARMY.”

“‘Dynamite’ is a song for all our fans around the world. We are so happy to hear that there’s so much love and support,” Jin shared.

“I’m seeing it with my own eyes, but it feels like I’m still dreaming and dreaming,” RM chimed in. “Thanks to everyone who worked on this track, and of course, mostly more than anything, thank you, thank you, thank you, I love you ARMYs around the world.”

“We’ll continue to do our best and make you proud, ARMY. I thank every single one of you for being so awesome to us,” Jungkook went on.

“Every step of the way, you were there for us, ARMY,” Jimin concluded. “You are the reason that keeps us going.”

The group also recently made their debut on the MTV VMAs stage with an explosive performance of “Dynamite.” They also set a new YouTube record for the song’s debut.

According to YouTube, the “Dynamite” music video got 101.1 million views in 24 hours – setting the record for most views for a music video in its first 24 hours on the platform. They also set an all-time record of biggest music video premiere – over three million viewers watched concurrently watched the video upon its release.

They also made history as the first Korean act to top the Spotify’s “Global Top 50” chart – the song also quickly topped the iTunes charts in 104 regions.
