The Weeknd is not affected by the negativity surrounding his new project.
The 33-year-old “Blinding Lights” singer addressed a bombshell report that was released by Rolling Stone on Wednesday (March 1) detailing the endless delays and alleged “torture porn” vibe on the set of his new show, The Idol, after Sam Levinson took over at the helm.
In response, The Weeknd uploaded footage from the show featuring him and co-star Lily Rose Depp.
In the clip, the pair mocked the publication for its irrelevance. His character says in the clip:
“Rolling Stone, aren’t they a little irrelevant?”
Lily’s character then says:
“I don’t know, I think it’s maybe past its prime.”
Their characters then discuss how Lily’s character has more followers than the publication.
The Weeknd posted the clip on Twitter, and captioned it:
“Rolling Stone did we upset you?”
The Rolling Stone report on The Idol included allegations of explicit sex scenes, impossible expectations, and chaos caused by constant rewrites.
