The Weeknd is sharing some good news!
The 32-year-old singer has shared an update on his voice, days after he had to cut short his sold-out show in Los Angeles — and it looks like things are looking up for the entertainer.
He revealed that he is now all cleared to get back onstage and will be picking up his After Hours Til Dawn tour in his hometown of Toronto. Taking to social media, he wrote:
“Doctor says my voice is safe and with rest i’ll be solid and able to bring the show my TORONTO fans are waiting for. LA date is being worked out soon.
thank you SO much for all the love and understanding that’s come my way. i love you all so much… XO.”
The Weeknd will be resuming his tour with two stops in Toronto on September 22 and 23.
His update comes after he had to abruptly end his second show in Los Angeles on Saturday (September 3). After exiting the stage during the second song, The Weeknd came back out and announced to the crowd that he would not be completing the show. He told the crowd of over 70,000 at the time:
“I’m going to make sure you’ll get your money back. But I’ll do a show, real soon for you guys.”
He went on to emotionally say:
“I apologize. I love you so much.
You know how much this kills me, I’m sorry. I love you. Thank you so much.”
After his exit, he took to social media, writing:
“My voice went out during the first song and I’m devastated. Felt it go and my heart dropped. My deepest apologies to the fans here. I promise I’ll make it up to you with a new date.”
