When Taylor Swift dropped her short film for “All Too Well,” fans marveled at the perfect casting that went into the project with stars Dylan O’Brien and Sadie Sink.
Now, Taylor is opening up as to why Dylan was her number one choice for the male lead.
In a new interview with Bustle, the singer shared why she chose the Maze Runner actor for the very personal project. She said via email:
“Dylan was my first choice for the ‘All Too Well’ short film because he has that versatility I was looking for. I’d seen his work and heard nothing but wonderful things about him as a person.
Ultimately I want to work with people who love what they do and come at it with enthusiasm, because that’s how I approach creating things too.”
She revealed that she sent Dylan a “novella-length text message” to ask him to take on “All Too Well.”
He obviously said yes, which led to a fantastic, well-acted performance from him and his co-star Sadie:
“I had a feeling he would be great at ad libbing and adding nuance to his character, which enriched the story tenfold. He absolutely blew me away and I feel really lucky that I gained such a great friend from the experience too.”
