Filming Thor: Love And Thunder just wrapped filming, and Chris Hemsworth and Taika Waititi are marking the occasion on social media. But that isn’t the only occasion Chris is celebrating.
The film’s director shared a black-and-white photo with Chris on IG, captioned, “And that’s a wrap on Thor: Love and Thunder. ❤️➕⚡️”
“Sometimes two people come together to inspire the world and change the cinematic landscape forever. And then there’s me and @chrishemsworth who are too cool to care about anything except making movies that bring people absolute joy,” he continued, jokingly adding, “Ok I don’t look cool I know that.”
“This film is the craziest thing I’ve ever done,” he went on. “And I’m honoured to bust my a– and have a nervous breakdown so you can all see it in May 2022.”
The same photo made it onto Chris’ feed. But apparently, it’s not the only occasion he’s celebrating.
“That’s a wrap on ‘Thor Love and Thunder,’ it’s also national don’t flex day so I thought this super relaxed photo was appropriate,” he wrote alongside the snap, adding, “The film is gonna be bats–t crazy off the wall funny and might also pull a heart string or two. Lots of love, lots of thunder!”
He also thanked the film’s cast and crew for making it “another incredible Marvel journey” and hyped his followers to “Buckle in, get ready and see ya in cinemas!!”
While it looks like Chris may have made the whole National Don’t Flex Day thing up, fans couldn’t help but notice one glaring detail in the photo.
“GOOD LORD THOSE ARMS…” one fan tweeted.
“CHRIS HEMSWORTH GOT JACKED FOR THOR LOVE AND THUNDER OMG,” another wrote.
“gonna be thinking about Chris Hemsworth’s arms for a while tbh,” one person shared.
“Chris Hemsworth’s arms deserve their own check for this movie,” a Twitter user joked.
This isn’t the first time fans noticed Chris’ superhero physique though. In a photo he shared earlier this month, the actor and one of his sons spent time together on the set – and his legs were shown in a not-so-flattering light. The snap had some fans teasingly comparing the vast difference in size of his bulging arms in relation to his legs.
“Thor has been skipping the leg day,” one fan teased.
“Don’t forget leg day!” one person wrote.
He also revealed his son’s favorite superhero in the post – and it’s not Thor.
Sharing a hilarious anecdote, Chris wrote at the time, “Holding my little man’s hand and asking him the age old question. ‘What do you want to be when you grow up.’ ‘Dad i wanna be Superman.’”
“Lucky I have two other kids,” he jokingly added.
Well, at least his little boy is still down to wear a red cape.
