Timothee Chalamet is opening up in a brand new interview.
In GQ’s new profile of the 27-year-old Dune star, he gamely spoke about a myriad of topics, and he was not afraid to get candid and personal.
He spoke about getting to work with Zendaya, Austin Butler, and Florence Pugh on Dune 2, and shared how he considers Zendaya and her boyfriend Tom Holland among the “good Hollywood.” Timothee said:
“It was so incredibly valuable to spend so much time with Zendaya and her assistant, Darnell, and when Tom [Holland] would come to set too. They’re level. They’re good Hollywood. They’re good-energy Hollywood.
And then Austin and Florence. I feel like I’m creating a community for myself of people who care about the right things. Look at Zendaya. Just how much she’s able to achieve while also sort of letting everything roll off her back is mega-inspiring. She’s just doing.”
He also touched on the Armie Hammer cannibal allegations and the parallels to his film Bones And All. Timothee and Armie worked together with director Luca Guadagnino on Call Me By Your Name. Timothee and Luca have been planning to make their cannibal movie Bones And All, and Timothee was asked about the film in response to allegations about Armie.
In case you missed it, a DM allegedly sent by Armie surfaced online, and in the DM, Armie said:
“I am 100% a cannibal. I want to eat you.”
Timothee had this to say:
“I mean, what were the chances that we’re developing this thing? It made me feel like: Now I’ve really got to do this. Because this is actually based on a book.”
When asked directly about the allegations made against his former co-star, he stated:
“I don’t know. These things end up getting click baited so intensely. Disorienting is a good word.”
He was also asked about his personal life. Timothee went public with his romance with Kylie Jenner this fall after months of rumors, and though the article was written before the confirmation, he was asked about all the speculations surrounding his private life. He said:
“I can’t say that this stuff doesn’t matter because my intense fandom has led me to where I am.”
Timothee apparently “bristled” at the thought that he “might not be entitled to a wholly private life,” and added:
“This reminds me of that recent South Park episode with the Worldwide Privacy Tour. Sometimes, people re going to be hella confused when you say you’re trying to live a private life.”
