Tom Cruise went on an all-out rant directed at Mission: Impossible 7 crew members in London after he spotted two crew members breaking COVID-19 protocols on set.

An audio recording of his angry speech was released by The Sun – he could be heard yelling. There were reportedly 50 members of the crew in the studio at the time.

“They’re back there in Hollywood making movies right now because of us. I’m on the phone with every f–king studio at night, insurance companies, producers…They are looking at us and using us to make their movies,” the audio begins. “We are creating thousands of jobs, you motherf–kers.”

Aside from starring in Mission: Impossible 7, Tom also serves as the film’s producer. According to the report, Tom’s tirade happened after “spotting two crew [members] standing within two meters of each other.”

“If I see you do it again, you’re f–king gone. And if anyone on this crew does it, that’s it — and you too and you too. And you, don’t you ever f–ing do it again,” he warns. “That’s it. No apologies. You can tell it to the people that are losing their f–king homes because our industry is shut down.”

“So I am sorry I am beyond your apologies. I have told you and now I want it and if you do it you’re out!” he later continues in part. “We are not shutting this f–king movie down. Is it understood? If I see it again, you’re f–king gone.”

Many film projects were shut down earlier during the pandemic – those that resumed production in recent months have to follow safety protocols amid the coronavirus pandemic.

Production for Mission: Impossible 7 was put on hold back in February. Paramount Pictures released a statement at the time, saying, “Out of an abundance of caution for the safety and well-being of our cast and crew, and efforts of the local Venetian government to halt public gatherings in response to the threat of coronavirus, we are altering the production plan for our three-week shoot in Venice, the scheduled first leg of an extensive production for Mission: Impossible 7. During this hiatus, we want to be mindful of the concerns of the crew and are allowing them to return home until production starts. We will continue to monitor this situation, and work alongside health and government officials as it evolves.”

The film’s production restarted in September, however, they encountered problems as the cast and crew have to film in several parts of Europs. In October, per The Sun, Tom and the film’s director, Christopher McQuarrie holding “crisis talks” when 12 people on set in Italy were said to have tested positive.

Tom also reportedly has a personal stake in this – The Sun reports that the actor personally paid £500,000 for an old cruise ship for the cast and crew to isolate on.

Tom and his reps are yet to respond to requests for comment.

Mission: Impossible 7 is scheduled to be released in November 2021.
