Trace Cyrus isn’t holding back in his latest social media rant, and this time, he’s calling out Katy Perry for allegedly copying his sister Miley’s career moves.

In a video shared on Instagram, the 36-year-old musician laid into Perry, 40, following her highly publicized trip to space, accusing her of stealing ideas from Miley’s iconic career shifts.

“I first knew Katy Perry and her team were lame as f–k when her career was first dying,” Trace began, getting straight to the point. “And they were like, ‘Hm, what can we do? Well, what worked for Miley? She cut her hair off and it broke the internet and everyone freaked out and she bleached it blonde. We should do that with you, Katy.’”

In 2012, Miley made waves by cutting her hair into a pixie cut and turning heads with her bold new look. Fast forward to 2017, and Perry debuted a similar pixie cut with blonde dye, which didn’t sit well with Trace.

He also pointed out that Miley took a more hip-hop-inspired approach to her sound in 2013, collaborating with Mike WiLL Made-It, Wiz Khalifa, and Juicy J on her album Bangerz. Miley’s new direction was a sharp departure from her earlier country-pop sound, and it worked—her career hit a major resurgence. But Trace believes Katy followed suit by working with Migos on her 2017 song “Bon Appétit,” which featured a similar hip-hop sound.

Trace didn’t hold back as he mimicked what he imagined was a conversation between Katy and her team: “‘You’re now going to do the same stuff that Miley did and blow up,’” he said. “Guess what? It didn’t f–king work—and then they just tried some EDM song or some s–t because EDM’s hot.”

Perry’s attempt at a music reinvention didn’t quite pay off, and Trace believes it’s been a downhill ride ever since. “Didn’t f–king work, and now they’re going to send your ass to space,” he continued, mocking Perry’s much-publicized space trip. “Didn’t f–king work! It’s not working. It’s backfiring.”
