Travis Scott is putting his fans’ safety first.
Reports have it that the rapper stopped his recent concert at Coney Island on Monday (July 4) when concert-goers started to climb a truss while during his set. This show marks one of the first live shows that he has put on after his headlining set as Astroworld. 10 people tragically died at Astroworld because of crowd surges.
Travis performed an impromptu set at the Coney Island Art Walls’ Independence Day event after being first billed just as a “live DJ.” He took the stage alongside Meek Mill.
As he performed, the crowd was packed tight. Several concertgoers then climbed the metal lighting truss and scaffolding so that they could get a better view, and dangerously dangled in the metal framework.
The rapper spotted the fans on the truss — and stopped mid-performance to demand that they get down. The fans reportedly complied and the concert went back on.
Travis is still facing several lawsuits related to the incident.
