Tristan Thompson is sorry. Incredibly sorry. And he wants us all to know — especially Khloe Kardashian.

The NBA star took to social media to confirm that Maralee Nichols’ child, a baby boy born on December 1, is indeed the product of his short-lived affair with her. He was in a relationship with Khloe when his son with Maralee was conceived. He and Khloe are parents to a daughter, True.

On his Instagram Story on Monday, Tristan wrote:

“Today, paternity test results reveal that I fathered a child with Maralee Nichols. I take full responsibility for my actions. Now that paternity has been established I look forward to amicably raising our son.

I sincerely apologize to everyone I’ve hurt or disappointed throughout this ordeal both publicly and privately.”

He then went on to address his ex directly, stating:

“Khloe, you don’t deserve this. You don’t deserve the heartache and humiliation I have caused you. You don’t deserve the way I have treated you over the years.

My actions certainly have not lined up with the way I view you. I have the utmost respect and love for you. Regardless of what you may think.

Again, I am so incredibly sorry.”

When Maralee took things to court last month, Tristan did not acknowledge that the child was his. He did however cop to having sex with her back in March, around the time of his birthday. He and Khloe had celebrated his birthday at the time, having gotten back together after many, many previous cheating allegations. They are said to have split in June 2021.

After Tristan’s public confirmation, Maralee released her own statement via her rep, Harvey Englander:

“There was never any doubt that Tristan Thompson was the father of Maralee Nichols’ baby.

Tristan made numerous false and defamatory statements and declarations about Maralee over the past few months, and she is taking his contrite statement today in the context of all those statements.”
