He’s baaaaack!

After months of speculation (and fervent wishes of fans!), it’s been confirmed that Tyler Hoechlin will in fact be making a return to Beacon Hills.

The Superman & Lois star has signed on to reprise his role as Derek Hale in Teen Wolf: The Movie. His appearance in Paramount+’s forthcoming two-hour continuation of the hit MTV series, which ran from 2011 to 2017, comes about six weeks after the announcement that actor Vince Mattis was cast as Eli Hale. Eli is the 15-year-old son of Tyler’s Derek.

Tyler is set to reunite with former cast mates Tyler Posey, Holland Roden, Crystal Reed, Shelley Hennig, Linden Ashby, Melissa Ponzio, Orny Adams, JR Bourne, Khylin Rhambo, Ryan Kelly, Colton Haynes, Ian Bohen, and Dylan Sprayberry in the film.

One main cast member of the original series will not be returning: Dylan O’Brien, who played fan-favorite Stiles. He said upon confirming he won’t be back:

“Ultimately, I just decided it was left in a really good place for me and I still want to leave it there.

I wish them well and I’m going to watch it the first night it comes out. I hope it f–ing kicks ass, but I’m not going to be in it.”

Arden Cho, who was part of the show for multiple seasons, will also not be returning for the movie.
