Weeks after making headlines with dating speculations, Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Barker wordlessly made their relationship Instagram official on Tuesday (Feburary 16) – after spending Valentine’s Day together.
How, you ask? Kourt shared a post of their entwined hands – hers with a hearts-themed mani, and his covered in very recognizable tattoos. No faces. No tags. No captions. Then, there’s the fact that Travis also shared Kourt’s post on his IG Stories…
Okay, so many already know Kourt and Travis’ long-time history as friends – when Kourtney and Scott Disick were still together, they were neighbors with Travis and then-wife Shanna Moakler. Kourt’s kids are friends Travis’ kids as well.
And though their respective previous relationships ended up not working out, Kourt and Travis remained friends through the years. Sources say their platonic relationship only recently turned romantic, and fans got a hint of their blossoming romance when they each posted photos from Kris Jenner’s vacation home in Palm Springs on social media in January.
While many are thrilled at the new couple’s confirmation of their relationship status, it appears not everyone shares the same sentiments.
According to E! News, just one day after Kourt and Travis became Instagram official, Travis’ ex-wife, Shanna – they finalized their divorce in 2008 – was caught ~liking~ a comment that read: “Shhhhiiiii that broad don’t got nothin’ on you. Travis downgraded big time.”
However, not all of her followers followed suit – and it seems some even found the comment offensive.
“There’s no need to say that. Everyone is beautiful in their own way,” one person wrote.
“How about we stop putting women against each other,” another added.
Yet another chimed in, “Kourtney is gorgeous like you should be judging. Not.”
Although Shanna has seemingly hinted at her feeling about Kourt and Travis’ blossoming romance, sources say Scott is reportedly happy for the new couple.
“Scott has been around Travis on several occasions and thinks he’s a great guy,” a source previously told E! News. “He’s really happy for Kourtney and is not surprised they are dating. Kourtney has spent a lot of time with Travis and it’s not shocking to him that they developed a romantic relationship.”
“He couldn’t be happier that she’s moved on. As long as the kids are in a healthy situation and Kourtney’s in a good place, then Scott is happy for them,” the insider added.
