Whitney Port-Rosenman is opening up about a deeply personal chapter of her life—one filled with hope, heartbreak, and resilience.
The fashion designer and reality TV alum, now 40, is speaking candidly about her journey with fertility in an upcoming episode of the SHE MD podcast, hosted by Dr. Thaïs Aliabadi and Mary Alice Haney. In a sneak peek shared with PEOPLE, Whitney reflects on what she’s been through since becoming a mum to her now 7-year-old son, Sonny Sanford, whom she shares with husband Tim Rosenman.
“My first pregnancy was extremely easy. I went off my birth control and within a couple months I was pregnant. I had no issues, no complications,” she said. “I didn’t feel great, but it was a completely healthy pregnancy. I was 32.”
But things changed after Sonny’s birth. “About a year after I had Sonny, I got pregnant again and then miscarried at around eight weeks, and I had another miscarriage after that,” she explained. That’s when her doctor suggested seeing a fertility specialist.
“At this point, I was 34 or 35. I’ve had a total of five miscarriages. One at eight weeks, a few at nine weeks, and one ended up at 11 weeks. All with heartbeats.”
Her experience echoes that of many women who silently go through similar struggles. Miscarriages are far more common than many realize, yet still rarely talked about in public forums.
Whitney has long been known for her honesty—whether on MTV’s The Hills or through her social media platforms and YouTube videos. Her willingness to share something so raw may help others feel less alone in their own journeys.
As the podcast episode rolls out, listeners can expect an in-depth and heartfelt conversation about the emotional toll, physical demands, and relationship dynamics that come with fertility challenges.
