Is Blair Waldorf ever going to grace us with her presence on HBO’s Gossip Girl reboot?
Leighton Meester, who played the character to perfection on the original Gossip Girl series, is reacting to the idea of making an appearance on the new show.
In a new interview with Fox 5 New York’s Rosanna Scotto, the 35-year-old The Weekend Away actress was asked about the reboot — and if she would ever make a return to the Gossip Girl universe. Leighton responded:
“This has been asked a couple times, I’m going, ‘I don’t know maybe.’”
She went on to say that for now, she had no definitive answer — but that no doors are being shut:
“You know, I’m not really sure. I will say I’ve watched the new one, I do think it’s really awesome. I’m happy for them, I feel like they’re doing a whole new thing, and I don’t think that we don’t fit in but – I can only speak for myself – I don’t feel like I don’t fit in.
But I will say, I feel really good sort of sitting back and leaving it to the kids, to the young new generation, they’re doing so awesome.
So, that’s all I’ll say for now, you know… you never say never.”
We gotta say, a Blair Waldorf return will always be very, very welcome!
