Yara Shahidi is now officially a college grad!
On Thursday (May 26), te Grown-ish star graduated from Harvard University – and she adorably took her fans along on this momentous occasion by sharing photos and videos on her social media.
To kick off the celebration, Yara’s mom Keri shared a video with her on Monday. Keri said in the video:
“Guess where I am, guess who I’m with? Who’s about to graduate?”
Yara then beamed as the camera panned towards her, answering:
“Meeeee.”
Her mom captioned the video post with:
“‼️HIP HIP HOORAY‼️”
The next day, the mother-daughter duo followed up with another video featuring them in a car on their way to the baccalaureate, with Yara saying:
“It’s getting real.”
Then on Wednesday, they both posted photos from the baccalaureate, with Yara in her cap and gown and her mom in a floral outfit. Yara captioned her post with:
“Celebrating ALL week! T MINUS ☝️ DAY AWAY FROM GRADUATION 👩🏾🎓.”
She also posted photos with her younger brothers, captioning it:
“T-Minus 1 day to GRADUATION🔥 so here I am, sharing this special moment with my most special day one’s.”
On Thursday, Yara’s father Afshin marked the joyous occasion of her graduation by posting a selfie of the two of them at Harvard. He wrote:
“Beautifully surreal moment seeing our delicate petal in full bloom.”
Yara posted photos and a Boomerang on her Instagram Story, featuring her with her classmates.
Keri posted a photo of Yara in her cap and gown holding a bouquet:
“Hard work pays off.”
Yara got into Harvard in 2017. She deferred for a year before beginning her studies. She has been juggling her acting career and education for four years.
