There’s a wild theory going around about Zac Efron and Vanessa Valladares’ recently concluded romance – particularly about how long they actually dated.
As far as the public knows, they started dating sometime last year – he reportedly met her in June 2020 while she was working as a waitress at a café in Byron Bay, Australia. Zac’s pal, Kyle Sandilands, a.k.a. the Kyle of Australian radio show The Kyle & Jackie O Show, said in an April episode of the show that he spoke with the actor and confirmed that the two have split.
“I can also confirm after speaking with him yesterday,” Kyle said on the radio show at the time. “It’s only recent, but not like yesterday recent. But they’ve gone their separate ways.”
“[There was] no drama, but it’s done,” Kyle added. “He’s back to work. They spent a lot of time with each other when he wasn’t working, then the world comes back and kicks you straight back into reality.”
BUT eagle-eyed fans recently discovered a comment on Vanessa’s socials, which has fans speculating about when the two actually struck up a romance.
On one of her older posts circa December 2017 a commenter left this message: “Take care god bless you and zac.xx.” It doesn’t appear to be anything out of the ordinary…until you look at the date – the comment was written on March 17, 2018!
Now, it’s not exactly clear what the circumstances surrounding the comment are, but it’s got fans wondering whether Zac and Vanessa have been an item for years and no one even knew.
Kyle referenced the now-viral comment in a recent episode of his radio show, saying, “It isn’t just recent…It’s been going on for a little while. I don’t know exactly how long,” he said.
But…when? How?
It’s pretty probable though. Jackie O pointed out that Zac was in Australia for The Greatest Showman premiere in the latter part of 2017, which could possibly be when their paths first crossed.
This isn’t the first time that Zac’s been the subject of rumors and wild theories. FYI, he’s never publicly spoken out about dating Vanessa. More recently, he became the subject of plastic surgery rumors, after appearing on Bill Nye’s Earth Day musical video with an allegedly “new face.”
During his split-second cameo, fans noticed his jaw line looks quite different from what we’re used to seeing.
Dr. Anthony Youn, a certified plastic surgeon who’s pretty popular on TikTok, shared his thoughts about what might be going on.
“Everybody is talking about Zac Efron and how strange he looks. Has he had plastic surgery to reshape his jawline? Botox? Fillers? I don’t think so!” the doctor said at the time.
He then explained, “I actually think he’s had dental surgery, not plastic surgery. That’s why he’s swollen in these areas. If you had your wisdom teeth taken out, did you look like this?”
Kyle also shot those plastic surgery rumors down. “It’s like getting a Picasso and having a kid finger paint all over it,” Kyle said on The Kyle and Jackie O radio show in Australia on Friday (April 30). “Why bother?”
“I would know if he’d had any plastic surgery,” he added.
