Zac Efron has a new title to add to his already impressive resume: Emmy-winning Daytime Program Host.
The Daytime Emmys announced the list of winners in the lifestyle and fiction categories on Sunday (July 18) – he scored the win for Outstanding Daytime Program Host for his show Down To Earth With Zac Efron.
The 33-year-old actor celebrated the win with a sweet message to fans on social media.
“Wow! Never expected this and so grateful,” Zac wrote on Instagram. “A HUGE thank you to #daytimeemmys @netflix and our small but powerful crew @zacdowntoearth who made this show what it is.”
“And most of all, thank all of you for watching and enjoying D2E,” he continued. “This is for you. Get ready for the next adventure it’s going to be a good one. Love u guys.”
Zac travelled all over the world, embarking on one adventure after another, during the series’ first season. He and co-host and co-executive producer, wellness expert Darin Olien, travelled around France, Puerto Rico, Iceland, England, Costa Rica, Peru and Italy, in search of healthy, sustainable ways to live while embracing local food, culture and customs along the way.
According to Deadline, Zac has begun production on the second season of D2E in Australia – they kicked off production in March – so there’s more of Zac’s adventures to come.
He’s also starring in the upcoming remake of Stephen King’s Firestarter, which just wrapped filming recently. The actor celebrated their last day of filming on Instagram by posting a couple of pictures with his onscreen daughter, Ryan Kiera Armstrong – and yes, he’s playing a dad in the film!
“That’s a wrap on #firestarter movie! can’t wait for you guys to see this,” he wrote, tagging his young co-star.
Congrats on the win, Zac!
