The former couple, who have always maintained a relatively private life, took to Instagram to mark this special occasion with heartwarming messages and adorable photos, sharing a rare glimpse into their lives as parents.
Zayn Malik, 31, and supermodel Gigi Hadid, 29, welcomed their daughter Khai on September 19, 2020, and she’s been the center of their world ever since. Despite their breakup, the pair continues to co-parent their little girl, and it’s clear from their posts that Khai is the light of their lives.
On Thursday, September 19, both Zayn and Gigi shared beautiful tributes to their daughter on Instagram to celebrate her fourth birthday. Zayn posted a touching message alongside a sweet photo of the two of them at the beach, a moment that seemed to capture the close bond between father and daughter.
“Happy birthday to the most important person in my life, I love you more than words allow me to express, beyond proud to call you my daughter.. grateful for every second I get to spend next to you, as you become the incredible person I know you already are,” Zayn wrote. He went on to reflect on how becoming a father has changed his life. “Four years ago today my life changed forever and I wouldn’t be the man I am today without you,” he concluded.
On the other hand, Gigi gave fans an even deeper look into Khai’s birthday celebrations. Sharing a series of photos from her Star Wars-themed birthday party, Gigi revealed that their little one had a Yoda cake adorned with the words, “May the FOURce Be With You.” It was a cute twist on the iconic “Star Wars” phrase and showed just how much Khai loves Baby Yoda.
Gigi also gave a little insight into her daughter’s personality, writing about her interests and quirks. “Our girl is 4 today and we celebrated all week!!! She loves animals (fantastical ones too), music, baby yoda, all things nature & bugs, Descendants, anything squishy or miniature, and if possible – will be in the water from dawn til dusk.” From Gigi’s description, it’s clear that Khai is a curious, adventurous, and witty little girl who’s full of energy and creativity.
