News broke over the weekend that Zoë Kravitz and Karl Gusman are calling it quits after less than two years of marriage.

Zoë and Karl started dating in 2016 – and got engaged in 2018. They secretly tied the knot in a May 2019 ceremony, before saying “I do” in front of family and friends in a ceremony at her dad Lenny Kravitz’s home in Paris, with a star-studded guest list that includes her Big Little Lies co-stars like Reese Witherspoon, Nicole Kidman and more.

Last summer, she celebrated their one-year wedding anniversary on social media with a sweet post that was simply captioned “one year.”

In documents obtained by People, Zoë filed for divorce on December 23—and her rep confirmed the split.

It’s unclear what exactly caused the split, and Zoë hasn’t directly addressed the breakup.

However, she did share an interestingly timed meme on Instagram Story. On Saturday (January 2), Zoë welcomed the new year by posting a meme about throwing out “people places and things that no longer serve my greatest and highest good.”
