The MTV EMAs aired Sunday (November 8) evening, with Little Mix’s Perrie Edwards, Leigh-Anne Pinnock and Jade Thrilwall, hosting the evening’s show – Jesy Nelson had to skip the show due to health reasons.
Due to the coronavirus pandemic, the awards show was a virtual affair, with performances staged from different locations across the world. Despite missing one of their members, Perrie, Leigh-Anne , and Jade delivered a smashing performance of their single “Sweet Melody” from their recently released album, Confetti. Doja Cat revamped her pop hit “Say So” into a rock anthem, and Yungblud gave an amazing performance of his two 2020 singles “Cotton Candy” and “Strawberry Lipstick” – which came with a praise-filled intro from Dave Grohl – and more.
BTS won big, taking home the award for four out of their five nominations, including Best Group, Best Song, Best Virtual Live and Biggest Fans, and breaking the record for the most number of wins (three) for Biggest Fans award – they were previously tied with Justin Bieber and One Direction.
