Broadway’s back, baby!

As theater-lovers rejoice at the reopening of the Great White Way, what better way to kick off the celebrations than with the 74th Annual Tony Awards?

The 2019-2020 Broadway season was cut short when everything shut down in March 2020. Last year’s Tony Awards was likewise postponed amid the pandemic.

On Sunday (September 26), Broadway legends stepped out to attend the Tony Awards at the Winter Garden Theatre in New York City. Stars like Kristin Chenoweth, Ben Platt, Anika Noni Rose, Beanie Feldstein and more brought glitz, glam, and all that jazz to the red carpet.

It was parents’ night out for Chrissy Teigen and John Legend, who hit the red carpet in fabulous fashion. The EGOT winner looked dapper in a classic black tux while the Cravings author sparkled in an off-shoulder silver Ulyana Sergeenko gown with pink ruffled sleeves and a plunging neckline.

Chrissy was there to support her husband, who performed with the Ain’t Too Proud cast onstage. Sharing photos from the evening, she also joked about her cleavage, captioning a clip she posted with “broaDDway, hunny!!!!”

John also shared a “Date night at the Tonys” photo where the couple posed together at the venue.

Another #CoupleGoals at the Tonys were Leslie Odom Jr. and wife Nicolette Robinson, where the two performed “You Matter To Me” from the musical Waitress. Leslie sported a white-and-black Celine suit as he serenaded his Nicolette in her nude off-shoulder ruffled Christian Siriano ball gown.

Meanwhile, seemingly making their first public appearance as a couple are Tom Hiddleston and Zawe Ashton. The actors, who co-starred together in the 2019 revival of Betrayal on Broadway, have been rumored to be dating since the play wrapped – and were recently photographed packing on the PDA while on vacation in Ibiza, Spain.

The rumored couple walked the red carpet at the event, posing together with their co-stars for photos. They also posed together (just the two of them!) for photos inside the venue. Tom looked sharp in a navy tux and Zawe wowed in a red Carolina Herrera dress.

Other big star styles of the night include Jake Gyllenhaal in a pastel pink Prada suit with a satin cumberband, Debra Messing in an emerald, strapless Monique Lhuiller dress, Andrew Garfield in a brown Burberry suit, Beanie Feldstein in an eye-catching neon-green minidress with bubble skirt by Christian Siriano, and Jordan Fisher rocking the tie-less look in a classic Boss button-up.

Josh Groban made a smooth statement with his blue velvet David ThomasX tux, Kristin Chenoweth was pretty in pink in a ruffled tulle gown, and Darren Criss rocked a Givenchy look, putting a modern twist to the classic suit with satin sleeves and a chain adornment in place of a tie.

Stage and screen legend Audra McDonald hosted the evening’s ceremonies, which was streamed on  Paramount+. Leslie Odom Jr. took over hosting duties for The Tony Awards Present: Broadway’s Back special, which aired live on CBS.
