“And just like that… The story continues…”

Seven words have never gotten us more excited – even more so when paired with Sarah Jessica Parker’s iconic voiceover.

The Sex And The City star went on Instagram Sunday (January 10) to drop a teaser trailer for an SATC reboot coming to HBO Max.

“I couldn’t help but wonder… where are they now? X, SJ,” SJP captioned a short video filled with New York’s cityscapes, which also featured someone typing, “And just like that…” and “The story continues…”

Her SATC co-stars Cynthia Nixon and Kristin Davis also shared the teaser on social media – they’ve been confirmed to reprise their roles as Miranda Hobbes and Charlotte York, respectively, in the upcoming reboot. Oh, and they’re changing the title, too – it’s now going to be called And Just Like That.

However, although not surprisingly, Kim Cattrall, won’t be returning as Samantha Jones.

Back in 2019, she explained to The Guardian why she’s not interested in reprising her role: “I went past the finish line playing Samantha Jones because I loved Sex and the City. It was a blessing in so many ways but after the second movie I’d had enough. I couldn’t understand why they wouldn’t just replace me with another actress instead of wasting time bullying. No means no.”

According to Variety, And Just Like That “will follow Carrie Bradshaw, Charlotte York, and Miranda Hobbes as they navigate love and friendship in their 50s.” The season will consist of 10 half-hour episodes and production is set to begin sometime in the spring, assuming things are possible COVID-wise.

No release date has been announced yet, but hopefully the show will hit the small screens by late 2021 or early 2022.
