Andrew Scott, the talented star of “All of Us Strangers,” is breaking his silence on the intriguing connection between his group chat with Paul Mescal and Taylor Swift’s ex, Joe Alwyn, and Taylor Swift’s latest album, “The Tortured Poets Department.”

In a recent interview with Variety, Andrew delves into the fan theories swirling around the origins of Taylor Swift’s album title and sheds light on the dynamics of their playful group chat.

Expressing his admiration for Taylor’s musical prowess, Andrew raves about her latest album, describing it as “sensational.” He reveals that he reached out to Taylor personally to express his awe at the masterpiece, lauding her as an “extraordinary human” and praising the album’s brilliance. “Taylor’s new album is sensational! I texted her yesterday to say how amazing it is…I think she is just a force of nature, just an extraordinary human, and this album is really, really amazing.”

Among the tracks, Andrew singles out “The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived” as a personal favorite, emphasizing its poignant resonance. “

However, when it comes to the rumored connection between their group chat and Taylor’s album title, Andrew sets the record straight with a touch of humor. He explains that the group chat, humorously named “The Tortured Man Club,” was formed in jest, coinciding with their respective roles as tortured characters in various projects. Dismissing any deeper significance, Andrew chuckles as he recalls the brief exchange of texts that led to the creation of the group chat, likening it to many other fleeting digital interactions that ultimately fizzle out.

He said, “Let me tell you what that is!…So they were about to play these tortured characters, and I had played a tortured character in Fleabag. It wasn’t about our own characteristics!…I think there were three texts, like, ‘Hey, guys.’ You know those groups that you set up, and they just collapse.”
