Ariana Grande is rocking a new bling on ~that~ finger!
On Sunday (December 20), Ari went to Instagram to share the happy news that she and beau Dalton Gomez are engaged.
“Forever n then some,” Ari wrote in her post, sharing a slideshow of photos of her and Dalton cuddling, a mirror selfie of her wearing the ring, plus a close up of the ring’s design, which features an oval-shaped diamond sparkler and a cute pearl inlaid in the setting.
According to a jewelry expert’s professional opinion, the oval diamond is estimated to be about 5 carats, making the ring worth somewhere around $200,000 to $500,000.
“This is a unique engagement ring with a large oval diamond as a center stone and a cute pearl accompanying it,” luxury jewelry and watches retailer, Denis Stepansky, told Entertainment Tonight.
But what about the pearl? Well, fans have a theory…
Back in 2014, shared with fans that her grandmother had a ring made for her with the pearl from her grandfather’s tie pin.
“nonna had a ring made for me w/ the pearl from grandpa’s tie pin. she says he told her in a dream it’d protect me. <3” she wrote on Twitter at the time.
Fans think that the said pearl is actually what’s set in her engagement ring, alongside the diamond.
While Ari and Dalton only became Instagram official in October, they’ve been spotted together as early as February of this year – they were spotted packing on the PDA at a bar ahead of Valentine’s Day. The two quarantined together amid the pandemic and even appeared together in the music video for her collab with Justin Bieber, “Stuck With U.”
However, they’ve mostly kept details of their relationship on the DL. A source previously explained that, “Ariana has had some hesitation being so public about her relationship with Dalton as she’s seen how that has worn on her past relationships.”
Ari’s past high-profile romances include ex-fiance Pete Davidson, whom she was engaged to from June to October 2018, and the late Mac Miller.
Following her announcement, fans, friends and family showered the couple with much love.
“Sooo sooo sooo happy!!!! Love you two!!!” Ari’s mom, Joan Grande, commented.
Joan also went on Twitter to welcome Dalton into their family. “I am so excited to welcome Dalton Gomez into our family! Ariana, I love you and Dalton so much!!!! Here’s to happily ever after! YAY! Xoxoxo,” she tweeted.
“Sooo happy for u guys!!! Love you!!!!” Kim Kardashian West commented.
