He was a boy, she was a girl… And it looks like we’re going to be seeing them both on the big screen soon!
Avril Lavigne has revealed that she is planning on bringing one of her most iconic songs to the theaters! The 37-year-old musician shared that she is, at this very moment, working on adapting her hit song “Sk8er Boi” into a film!
In a recent appearance on the She Is The Voice podcast, Avril stated:
“Recently with it being almost the 20th anniversary, a lot of people have been asking me to play this song on TV shows, so it keeps getting brought back up and people will always reference it to me.
And so, I’m actually going to turn this song into a film and take it to the next level.”
Avril released “Sk8er Boi” almost two decades ago in 2002, and it skyrocketed her into stardom in the music scene.
In the interview, she didn’t divulge more information about the planned movie, but Avril did open up about the inspiration behind her hit track. She said:
“The skater boy in love with the preppy girl and she’s too cool for him. But then five years from now she’s feeding the baby and she’s all alone and she wishes she would have followed her heart and not tried to live up to society’s expectations.”
