BTS broke the record for the biggest YouTube premiere for their new music video for “ON”!

The Bangtan Boys just dropped a new music video for their latest single “ON,” and, Variety reports that 1.54 million people simultaneously watched, making it the biggest video premiere in YouTube history.

BTS already holds the YouTube Record, along with the Guinness World Record, for biggest 24-hour debut on the platform for their Halsey collab “Boy With Luv” – 76.5 million views in the first 24 hours!

However, YouTube hasn’t confirmed these numbers. According to Forbes, the company typically reports different figures than those that appear on a video’s real-time view counter.

This is actually the second MV for their lead single – they dropped the first one last week, which was titled “Kinetic Manifesto Film: Come Prima,” together with the release of their highly anticipated album, Map of the Soul: 7. Come Prima.

The new MV takes a more high-concept approach with the visuals. According to the announcement, “The video symbolically depicts BTS’ vow to accept their predestined path as fate and to keep going on, no matter the obstacles. The band’s signature charisma and perfectly synchronized choreography during the video’s dance break is set to attract the attention of millions of viewers around the world. As the global superstars continue to reach new heights, the lead single ‘ON’ sees BTS reach yet a new apex as versatile musical artists on a celebrated seventh year of their career.”

The group is also gearing up for their upcoming world tour this April.

They were expected to kick off their tour at the Jamsil Olympic Stadium in Seoul, South Korea on April 11, 12, 18 and 19. However, due to concerns with the novel coronavirus pandemic, the group recently announced that they were cancelling their shows in Seoul – the ticket holders have been refunded.

The announcement was made on their official Twitter account. “It is unavoidable that the concert must be canceled without further delay,” reads an announcement in Korean. “Please understand that this decision was made after extensive and careful consideration.”

Right now, it’s looking like their April 25 concert in Santa Monica, California will be their kicking off point in their tour. There also appears to be a third date added to their Los Angeles shows at the Rose Bowl, but the new date is yet to be confirmed by their rep.
