Charlie Puth is feeling the love and inspiration after receiving a shoutout from none other than Taylor Swift. If you haven’t caught wind of it yet, Taylor’s latest album, The Tortured Poets Department, features a nod to the “See You Again” crooner on the title track, where she boldly declares that Charlie “should be a bigger artist.”

In the wake of this musical acknowledgment, Charlie took to social media to share how Taylor’s words had lit a fire under him. On Friday (May 3), he took to TikTok to reflect on the whirlwind of the past few weeks, hinting at Taylor’s shoutout. But that’s not all—he also revealed that he’s gearing up to make a big move, inspired by the recognition he’s received.

In the TikTok video, as the melodious strains of his new song “Hero” play in the background, Charlie shares his thoughts with his followers. “These last couple of weeks have been really crazy for obvious reasons, but I wanted to share something with you,” he begins.

As the anticipation builds, he unveils his plans. “This is a song I wrote about my friend called ‘Hero,'” Charlie explains. He admits to feeling a bit apprehensive about being too candid in his music, which is why “Hero” had been sitting on his hard drive for a while. However, he sees Taylor’s shoutout as a sign that it’s time to release it.

“So…. I declare ‘Hero’ will be out everywhere on May 24th as the first single of my new album,” Charlie announces with a mixture of excitement and determination. “Thank you for your support… you know who you are,” he adds gratefully.

Charlie wraps up the video with a simple yet heartfelt caption: “Thank you.”

As for “Hero” itself, it’s a poignant love song that appears to be dedicated to his fiancée, Brooke Sansone. The couple’s romance began to blossom in 2022, and they confirmed their engagement the following year. In the song, Charlie’s emotive vocals capture the depth of his feelings: “But I said, ‘I’ll be here every night and day’ / Oh, I don’t need a hero but if you let me stay / Oh, I can still be here every night and day.”

With his upcoming single release and new album on the horizon, Charlie Puth is poised to make waves in the music industry once again, fueled by the encouragement of his peers and the unwavering support of his fans.
