Taylor Swift shared some inspiring words about the USA Gymnastics Team’s Olympic journey.

Team USA’s women’s gymnastics team has been the subject of headlines this past week with Simone Biles pulling out of the team final and the individual all-around competitions. Jordan Chiles replaced Simone in the team final while Jade Carey stepped in for the women’s all-around alongside Sunisa Lee.

Ahead of last night’s airing of the competition on NBC, Taylor lent her voice to narrate and soundtrack a promo hyping the event.

Set to her “Evermore” track from her album of the same name, the promo opens with over footage of the team training.

“Life can surprise you,” Taylor began the voice over. “It can humble you. It can test you. It can inspire you.”

“They didn’t expect this to be the story. But that doesn’t mean they weren’t ready for the spotlight,” she continued. “They’ve worked for this. They’ve dreamed about this. They belong here.”

“So don’t be surprised as the story takes flight from here, in the women’s all-around in Tokyo,” Taylor concluded.

The promo ends with a clip the names “Suni & Jade” fist-bumping each other.

Only two women max from each country are allowed to participate in the event. Initially, Simone and Suni qualified for the event. After Simone withdrew, Jade, who qualified for the Olympics as an individual, took up the mantle.

The actual competition for the women’s all-around event went down on Thursday (July 29) morning, U.S. time but aired on NBC last night. Suni went on to win the gold medal for the women’s all-around, giving the U.S.A. its fifth consecutive gold in the event. Jade finished in eighth place. Simone and the rest of the Team U.S.A. gymnasts were in the stands the whole time cheering for their teammates.

Despite pulling out of the competition, Simone has been celebrating her team’s wins on social media.

“OLYMPIC SILVER MEDALISTS 🤍,” she wrote alongside a group photo with her teammates after winning silver in the team finals. “I’m SO proud of these girls right here. You girls are incredibly brave & talented! I’ll forever be inspired by your determination to not give up and to fight through adversity! They stepped up when I couldn’t. thanks for being there for me and having my back! forever love y’all.”

Jordan retuned the love, commenting, “You will forever be loved. We can’t thank you enough. You have such a huge inspiration on all of us. We wouldn’t have done it without you🥺💕 love you mo 🤞🏾❤️.”

After Suni won the gold, Simone also took to Instagram to celebrate the victory.

“CONGRATS PRINCESS 🤍✨✨ absolutely killed it!!! OLYMPIC CHAMPION RIGHT HERE !!! So so so beyond proud of you!!!!” she captioned a selfie with Suni.

Meanwhile, Suni went on TikTok to celebrate her win. “on top of the world rn,” she captioned a clip of her dancing to Azealia Banks’ “Luxury,” while wearing their team’s tracksuit and showing off her new gold medal.

Congratulations, ladies!
