Dakota Johnson has worked with many actors over the years… And among her co-stars are some of whom have been faced with pretty serious allegations over the years.

The 32-year-old actress starred alongside Johnny Depp in Black Mass, Armie Hammer in Wounds, and Shia LaBeouf in The Peanut Butter Falcon. These three actors are now very famously embroiled in big controversies.

In a new interview with THR, Dakota addressed the allegations head-on, saying:

“I never experienced that firsthand from any of those people.”

She went on to expound on her experience with the actors, stating:

“I had an incredible time working with them; I feel sad for the loss of great artists. I feel sad for people needing help and perhaps not getting it in time. I feel sad for anyone who was harmed or hurt. It’s just really sad.”

Dakota stressed that she believes people can evolve and change:

“I do believe that people can change. I want to believe in the power of a human being to change and evolve and get help and help people. I think there’s definitely a major overcorrection happening.

But I do believe that there’s a way for the pendulum to find the middle.”

And she voiced her dislike and disapproval for ‘cancel culture’:

“The way that studios have been run up until now, and still now, is behind. It is such an antiquated mindset of what movies should be made, who should be in them, how much people should get paid, what equality and diversity look like.

Sometimes the old school needs to be moved out for the new school to come in. But, yeah, cancel culture is such a f–king downer. I hate that term.”

In other Dakota news, the Fifty Shades star talked about being the lead of the Fifty Shades Of Grey trilogy. She got her first big break as Anastasia Steele in the films, and says that she has “no regrets” on taking on the iconic role and that she doesn’t feel she’s been typecast because of it:

“I feel like I haven’t been pigeonholed into anything [because of the role]. I guess I could have gone in a certain direction, but that’s just not what I was interested in.

I don’t pay attention to the noise. I pay attention to if the script is great and the people involved are great.”

Dakota also revealed that she actually got advice from a certain fellow Hollywood actress during the casting process: Emily Blunt! She shared:

“I couldn’t talk about it to anybody. Nobody in my family knew. I was cast [and] I remember I spoke to Emily Blunt and I was like, ‘Should I do this trilogy? Because I want to have a really special career, and I want to make a certain kind of film. And I know that this is going to change things.

She was like, ‘F—king do it if it feels right. Just do it. Always do what you want to do.’”
